The standard factory oe ecu on the newage imprezas is extremely flexible and can be made to do a lot more than the Subaru engineers originally had in mind. Reprogramming the standard ECU is a great way to get better performance as well as ecomony from your Subaru.
Remapping the ECU involves tailoring the calibration on the car’s ecu to suit exactly the modifications on your vehicle and the performance that you wish to achieve from it. There are a huge number of parameters that we calibrate precisely to enable the enhanced performance:
- Fueling
- Ignition Advance
- Boost Pressure
- Turbo Response
- Knock Correction
- Diagnostic codes
- Camshaft Advance
- Injector Sizing
- Limiters (speed/rev)
- Airflow Characteristics
Using the latest 3D graphing and monitoring, we are able to build a fully custom ‘map’ for your car to work on and get the best performance and reliability. This can also be used to take advantage of alternative fuels like BioEthanol.

Example Performance Increases:
2001 WRX + decat exhaust + air filter + RaceDynamix map = approx 280bhp (up 55bhp from standard)
2003 STi + decat exhaust + air filter+ RaceDynamix map = approx 330bhp (up 54bhp from standard)
2006 Wrx + air filter+ RaceDynamix map = approx 260bhp (up 40bhp from standard)
2007 STi + full 3inch decat exhaust + air filter+ RaceDynamix map = approx 350bhp (up 74bhp from standard)

Classic Impreza:
Using the excellent ESL live mapping chip, we can fully reprogram the standard ecu to allow a much greater level of performance than that which the car left the factory with.

Find another ECU with useful real world features such as closed loop knock control so comprehensive that it can retard ignition, add fuel and modify boost.
How many after market ECUS feature full active diagnostics and 3D boost mapping?
The only major disadvantage of the OEM JECS ECU was its inability to be reflashed. Thats where the ESL Live daughterboard comes in. It allows the numbers in the OEM ECU to be changed to control fuelling, ignition, boost, sensor and actuator swaps (MAF, MAP, turbo, injector, etc). ESL Live will grow with any future modifications you have planned. It is the complete solution for any engine specification.
