What is TOTB?

Japanese Performance Ten of the Best (TOTB), is a performance road car event run by Straightliners Ltd, aimed at finding the best all round car in Europe. Handling, top speed and a 1/4m drag strip are used to determine the outcome.

It is a team based competition with each major mfr car club entering a team to compete across the discplines at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire on the 8th August 2010.

RaceDynamix get 3rd place at MLR 30-130 day at Marham

Had the 30-130 day at Marham yesterday and my targets for the day were to hit 180mph on the top speed run and to improve on last year’s 12.6 seconds for the 30-130.

I managed 180.72mph on the 1.5 mph runway. Very scarey with a cross wind at that speed with no rear spoiler.

As far as the 30-130 time goes I was 11.2 on the first run… but lots more to be had, then I upped the boost and got down to 10.7 for a few runs then discovered I still had a boot full of bits !! LOL So them removed and I dropped to 10.14…. then 10.08… argh !!!

So. would it do less than 10 ?

I was determined to make it so had another couple of runs on the bounce.  First one lit all four wheels building left foot braking to build 1.5 bar in second before lifting the brakes and shooting off down the runway. Back to the holding area to start another run with hot tyres.  The start felt awesome and I did not lift the throttle until I hit 140+ – this had to be the one.

I headed back to the MLR caravan and saw amazed that I had done 9.93 on the previous run

I waited for this time and it was 9.38 !!!

This gave me third fastest on the day out of 34 and I am WELL chuffed with that given the cars I was up against.

Awesome day and big thanks to the MLR for organising it and for the normal subaru team spirit.  Well done all other scoobies and especially to Clive for winning.  Well done.

11.45 for 1/4 mile at TOTB

Included in the TOTB Team Subaru final 10 mainly for the handling side of things it was about time I gave the car grief on the 1/4 mile.

The result on my 3rd run (still with full aero attached) was:

11.45 ET

122 mph terminal

1.6 seconds -> 60 ft

Very pleased with these results for a first proper outing and shows me that a 10 second run will be possible.

On each run I went on to do the standing kilometer with a best attained speed of 153.9mph over that distance from the standing start.

RaceDynamix Impreza chosen as reserve for Team Subaru at TOTB

The team has been announced for the annual trip to Elvington airfield for TOTB for Team Subaru to defend their title.  This year’s event has the support of Japanese Performance and Millers Oils – www.totb.co.uk

I have not made the top 10 unfortunately but looking at the team sheet it is easy to understand why as Team Subaru has some huge names and proven performance cars on it.  However I have made it as reserve and will be there supporting the team and ready to step up to the plate should I be called upon to do so.
