  • About the Car

The base car was bought new by Duncan in 2006 and has evolved over the period of the last three years into the track focused but still road-going car that it is. Plans for 2009 are:

    Eco Friendly Credentials

With ongoing concern about global warming and renewable energy sources, Duncan runs the Subaru on BioEthanol E85.  Using BioEthanol it has reached the conservative power target of 550 bhp as well as showing that motorsport can go green.

    Handling / Road Holding

Further development of the chassis, brakes and handling in conjunction with Zen Performance both before and during events to enable the best use of speed on the circuits used in the series.

    Aerodynamic Devices

Strong progress has been made on this area in 2008 but significant improvements will be made to the reduction of drag and increase of downforce in corners that will gain a competitive advantage and reduce lap times.

    Driver Improvement

Nobody is perfect and frequent assessment and tuition throughout 2009 with the aid of Phil Glew will help to bring the best from the overall package of car and driver.

    Bioethanol

The RaceDynamix Subaru Impreza runs on E85 Bioethanol and has run on solely this since Knockhill 2009.

RaceDynamix is committed to promote this environmentally sustainable fuel source and has been awarded official campaign partner status by EEMS. The Energy Efficient Motorsport Programme (EEMS) is a Government programme whose vision is to work with the UK motorsport industry to put energy efficiency at the heart of modern motorsport by stimulating the use of sustainable technologies and fuels. At every level of the industry, there are organisations which are actively embracing energy efficiency as part of their motorsport activities. Through the EEMS Campaign Partner Initiative, these organisations have, for the first time, the opportunity to demonstrate their pro-active commitment towards energy efficiency.

    What is E85?

E85 contains up to 85% bioethanol by volume and not only runs cooler with lower toxicity and harmful emissions than conventional race fuels, but also imposes a far lower carbon footprint on the atmosphere. This is because the CO2 emitted during E85’s combustion can be subsequently ‘recaptured’ as a nutrient by the crops used in its production.

RaceDynamix see the benefits of running this very high octane fuel both from the view of extra performance but also from a ‘green’ viewpoint as a way of making motorsport more environmentally neutral.
